| Term | Meaning |

| SupplyPoint | The software of tool and protective-equipment vending machines. It has its own database on the PC next to the machine. |
| Vending machine | A physical vending machine. One agent can drive several machines. |
| Agent | One SupplyPoint installation, shown as one row in the Agents list, together with the VDMSync agent program on the Windows PC next to the machine. The program sends data to the cloud and carries out orders from the console. |
| Synchronization | The agent sending SupplyPoint changes to the cloud, every 5 minutes by default. |
| Organization (account) | The company that uses VDMSync. You type its account name into the Account field when signing in. |
| Client | A company or branch within the organization that locations belong to. |
| Location | A place (for example a hall or a building) with one or more agents. Withdrawal limits apply within a location. |
| Scope | The part of the organization (client, location, agent) whose data the console shows. |
| Employee | A person who takes items from the machines (a SupplyPoint user). Not a console user. |
| Allowance | A withdrawal limit stored in SupplyPoint and enforced by the machine. |
| Withdrawal limit | A limit set in VDMSync and counted across the whole location. |
| Restriction | A SupplyPoint rule that says which items an employee may take. |
| GUI | The machine screen (the SupplyPoint terminal program). |
