Stock alerts

An alert notifies chosen people when a product in a machine starts to run low.

Adding an alert

  1. Open Stock alerts and click Add alert.
  2. Enter a Name (used as the email subject and in the notification).
  3. Choose the Kind:
    • Quantity threshold: a notification when a product's quantity in a machine is at or below the threshold;
    • Stock forecast: a notification when the forecast says the product runs out within the given number of days (or is out);
    • Backup: a notification when the last automatic backup of the SupplyPoint database failed, is older than the given number of days, or the machine recorded none.
  4. Choose the Machines.
  5. Product numbers: comma separated. Empty means every product in the chosen machines.
  6. Recipients: people from your organization.
  7. Notifications: Email, In-app or both.
  8. Leave Alert enabled ticked and save.

When a notification arrives

  • Stock is checked after every synchronization of a machine (usually every few minutes) and right after the alert is saved. Forecast alerts are also checked after the nightly forecast run.
  • Each product is reported once. The next notification comes only after its stock goes back above the threshold and drops again.
  • One notification covers all products of a machine that met the condition.

Requires permission: the "Stock alerts" row in the role editor (List, Add, Edit, Delete). The screen is for users assigned to the whole organization.
